Has anyone had work done by Dale? He's been recommended to me, but I'd prefer to hear some other views. Several threads recommend local techs, but Dale isn't mentioned. And hey, if you have another favorite tech, feel free to chime in too.

Thanks very much.

The DC area has many great techs. One of my go to guys is Emilio Montoya at L & L. He does top notch work, he set up my VI alto and tenor and everyone that plays either says it's the best horn they've ever played. He also does work for Ron Holloway who played with Diz. Emelio is a great guy too.

Tech in DC

Emilio is good. But right now he's back in South America.

Lee Lochman up past College Park works on many of the pro sax players' horns in town -- plus a lot of the National Symphony players' horns. He does great work.

If you want his number I can dig it up. Send me a PM

Didn't know Emilio was away, he really gets it just right.

I agree with Scott regarding Lee Lachman. He is an exceptional tech and player. He played lead alto with The Airmen of Note.

My advice would be to make sure that the work is done by the master tech and not someone that works for them.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Besides, Dale, I've heard good things about Lee and L&L before, and also about Eric Beach, who now works at Chuck's.
