As the end of the year comes to a close, it’s always time to reflect on life.

Is it going the way you want it to go for you? Are you happy? How is your health? Is your music journey going well? How are your finances? How is your family? Etc, etc....

All good questions to ask yourself.
For me, it’s always been about following my heart and following my passion.
2019 for me has been great in so many ways. The family is doing excellent and my 19 year old son is going to transfer to a new college, which he is very excited about. My wife and I are a little sad about that of course because he has never been away from home, but we are excited for him and his new journey. My 10MFAN business has had its biggest year yet by far, and has surpassed my expectations. I lost a good amount of weight this year and really could not be happier. Also my wife has had her best year ever with her real estate business, so she’s very happy with that, and everything is in such a nice place.

A lot of times, we just talk about saxophone stuff here and you see me posting my endless posts of stuff that I am selling, :), but it’s nice to get a little more intimate and share personal stuff, because it just brings everybody a little bit closer.

So how are things going for you guys?
Share your experiences over this last year and what you are hoping for, for this coming year.

I hope everyone here is having a better year than they had last year, and I hope they have an even better year in 2020!

Happy holidays to all!

I think I found some of it, and am ready to pass it on to someone else. :bluewink:

Best wishes to your son in college - that's a big transition.

Be well.

I"ve been following the book younger next year for 6 years now so I expect to feel younger. I'd like to get off the snide an actually record my second Cd. Mostly I'd like to play with many more people than this year, even just rehearsing, expand my horizons. You're only old once K

Thanks. He has been at a local college for the last year and a half and come the fall, he's going to transfer to UCF.
I'm sad already, but it's just part of life.
As for the weight, it's just been a full time effort. I just got to stay steady with it.

I love it. Playing with all sorts of people is such a great thing. It does so much for you musically. I know you will do it, and I hope you get that second CD out!!!

Goals for the new year are simple....recover completely from my health issues....get back in shape and playing baseball...if I can make that happen, everything else will fall into place....

Amen to that. Health issues affect everything so I hope you get everything cleared away.
I agree with you, after that, everything should fall into place.
Wishing you the best of luck with that.

The old old saying is:"You reach what you aim for", so if you reach for nothing then that is what you will hit.... nothing.

As a lifetime sax & flute player I have avoided the clarinet beast as much as possible. When I must use it on a "Gatsby Type Gig" I normally play in the upper register that closely resembles my sax.... this winter I am committed to playing it daily & learning to appreciate it for the fine instrument it is... at least I hope it is.

My first step has been to begin listening to good players. Currently it's Eddie Daniels. I hope to imprint my brain as to what is possible.

It would be nice to walk into a gig with confidence when I reach for my clarinet.
