Hi, Im still looking for the 'right' to suit my jody jazz classic, facing 8. So far, Hemke and La Voz provides the best for me. Anyone uses other reeds for their jody jazz?? The sound?

Hi,
I blow a Jody Jazz Classic 7 ruby red. Although it's a very personal choice finding the right reed for the feel, tone and comfort you are looking for, I asked for some suggestions from the company. Right now I blow a Rico Jazz Select 3 Soft unfiled, and I really like the tone, feel and flexability.

I got a JodyJazz Classic 8 alto, and I have to use rico royal 2- 2 1/2 or lavoz ms. Jody Espina recomended me to try the Rico Jazz select, and I did.
On all my other mouthpieces my favorite reeds are Vandoren regular 2 1/5 and Java 3. But I can´t get the Vandorens (ZZ/java/reg) to work on my JJ. That´s why I don´t use the JJ any more...

I have the JJ Classic 7 for bari sax. I experimented with several brands and numbers - the most consistent and best response for me has been from Hemke 3 and the Rico Royal 2.5 - I tried several Jazz Selects but they seemed to have a muffled response compared to the Hemke and Rico Royal.

Im not sure abt you guys, but the reason why i use hemke and not others like plasticover or java, because its too bright or 'clear' i like sound that has a sound mixture of air and sound. Like that thick mellow sound, with brightness and yet a bit of airy. Hahaha
