3's to 4's. Vandorens only, or Hemkes, if you would like something really soft, but they do not last as long.
Reed Strength with a S80 C*
I had my first rehearsal with my school's wind ensemble tonight, and I was playing my newly aquired C*. I know a classical piece takes getting used to, but I felt like my upper octave was stuffy and the response just wasnt all there. So basically, what's a ballpark reed strength to use on a C*? (Vandoren Blue Box probably)
