I have an older caravan mpc that I use #4vandoren blue box reeds .Question is the table and rails are wider than the reed so could I use a bari reed #4??.What do you think will change in the sound or ease of playing

Among synthetics, I would rather suggest reeds
made from composite material with an internal structure similar to cane. Reeds made by Bari are not composite and very different from cane.
I’m all but certain that OP is talking about using baritone reeds on their wide-tabled mouthpiece. Nothing gives the impression this is about synthetic reeds at all.

The costs of baritone sax reeds I think will quickly cure your curiosity.

Interesting. I have the same issue with my Dukoff H7, but just with the table. Side rails seem to align properly. I'm using red box Vandoren tenor reeds mostly now, but it seems like all my tenor reeds have the same issue. It is a bit of a pain to get the reed to properly line up with the table. I usually just eye it, and ensure there is equal amount of metal on both sides of the back of the reed.
