Hi,

I'm looking to buy a better mouthpiece for my sop. sax. I'm playing a Rico Royal on my Grassi soprano but want something that is edgier and cuts through. A friend has a metal Yanagsawa 7 that I like a lot, so any suggestions for similar type sound, fairly easy to play? I'm mainly bass guitar player, but I break out the sax at gigs. I was pretty good at one time but my chops have gotten weaker. In other words, I'm not wanting to spend $300 and I need something that isn't killer to play. I might go with the Yana 7 but would be good to compare if you have ideas. :?: Thanks!

The metal Yani 7 sounds like the right piece for you. A lot of players like them and I have heard really great tones from those who do. The nice thing about the yani is that it is not over the top edgy. Its still warm enough to use in a large variety of styles.
