I recently started playing a BO brand RPC copy and damn if it isn't a fantastic fit for my vintage horn.

However, none of the ligatures I own will hold the reed completely tight because the front is smaller than the back.

I am seeking anything but a Rovner. I like Vandoren and Berg ligatures but these do not work either.

Anybody know what Ron C supplied with his mouthpieces?

I use a HR tenor lig on mine but the BO may not be that close a copy to the RPC HR bari pieces externally so that may or may not work.

What's wrong with Rovner?

Ron used to provide a simple American Plating ligature with his mouthpieces. If it wasn't an APM, it was something equally simple.
Yes that's what I got with mine, I think it's actually a tenor lig. Ron told me a story about a mpc he made for someone or other that put the APM lig up against a fancy one and the cheapy sounded better. Regardless, it didn't fit perfectly on the mpc he made me, it seemed a little small. I use a Vandoren M|O on mine, I forget if it's a tenor or bari. They are both pretty similarly sized, I think the bari one is a little longer. But the point I am actually getting to is that if the Vandoren lig is too big for yours, perhaps try an APM lig. Should be like $5.

Yeah - like I said most HR tenor ligs will fit an actual RPC - some will fit better than others depending upon how the lig design matches the taper of the piece. The wildcard here is the OP is looking for a lig to fit a copy of an RPC bari piece not and actual RPC so the OD and taper of that BO piece he's referring to may not be exactly the same as the RPCs we're all talking about.

I am sure that a number of ligatures will fit your piece but if the shape is particularly tapered, two screws ligature will tend to provide a worse fit , so, while Rovners will probably provide a good fit too, how about trying a Branchere wire ligature?

They also have a cheaper one made in a way similarly to Rovner (but I feel it is more rigid )

They have different sizes and you should check beforehand with Pascal Brancher ( very responsive)

This video shows an older cap ( for tenor) now they have a different one

Thanks Milandro. I had the same idea and bought a Vandoren M/O tenor ligature. I prefer Vandoren but I will also check out the Brancher.

I bought the M/O tenor size on your suggestion

Keith. You may be correct but when comparing this BO to my friends RPC they have the same outer dimensions. That being said, I think a one screw Vandoren M/O tenor size will work according the the measurements I came up with using a digital caliper type measuring tool.

One day I will be able to buy a real RPC and see the difference.
