Hello all,

I'm planning for my senior recital in october and just wanted to get your opinion for what I've tentatively selected for the classical half of my recital.

Sonatine for bassoon (played on bari of course) - Tansman
Jeanine Rueff Sonate
Holy Roller - Libby Larsen

Thanks for your input

Holy Roller is an amazing song. That would be a great piece to play last. It will awe the crowd. What size are you playing for that piece?

Nice. Those pieces each pose very real and very different challenges.

bluesaxgirl: Are you referring to reed strength? if so I've been going back and forth between 3 and 3 1/2, which is a little weird because I play 4's on bari, tenor and soprano. I guess I don't play alto as much as I used to.

Dwoz5000: I'm still doing lots of writing in hopes of getting 1 or 2 originals into the program, but I have come up with a few ideas. Lately I've been digging on Seven Steps to Heaven and Joe Henderson does a real nice version of Take the A Train as a sax/drum duet that would be fun.
