Since asked in the previous thread about a more raw sort of piece I found this:

https://soundcloud.com/whampton-court%2Fbobbleeye
It's unedited and shows the sort of rambling process the guitarist and I go through to come up with something. Goes from nothing to a groove (sort of rough) and then falls apart/stops. Probably not as dark as Marton would prefer, but with all the rough edges that Mike wants to hear. Kind of an early 20th century vibe that's similar to something else we've done.

They do say be careful what you wish for....Man, this didn't sit well with me at all Wade.
It pissed me off actually. Now if you did this on purpose I would say you're a genius.
You did indicate rough experimental rambling in it's rawness. It's difficult to annoy me musically.
Congratulations! You've suceeded! ;)

Interesting! I can't think of any particular intent to annoy anyone although many consider anything played on a nino annoying.

Silly me, I thought that it would be interesting for some to hear how two people could get together and one would be playing a few lines, and changing/rambling until they found a fit and then (somehow) were able to bring a sound and vibe together. Nothing here that's great shakes, but it's documenting a process. You, and many others sit alone and do whatever you do without the interaction of anyone else (except some with their band in a box). You have all the time in the world to compose, create, doodle, etc. without the tyranny of real time and real people with whom you want/need to bring together music from scratch.

So what have I done that's so offensive? Style? Not a instantaneous abstract invention? Too musical? Not musical enough?

If apologies are due take them. Otherwise I haven't got a clue what you're on about.

Oh man....
Wade, like me, you put out a lot of music. And I just about enjoy everything you present without hesitation, don't I not? You appear sensitive, as well as defensive. Must I like everything you do, or is it that I presented the annoy reference? I can think of a few times you were a bit over the top. So what? I think you even used the word harsh. Is it okay for you but not me or anyone else? Harsh, as you phrased it? Annoy? What's the difference?
I was joking and you were serious. Again...So?

You've told me that there isn't enough hard critique and so I gave you some, but it was exaggerated in my usual sarcastic way to over emphasize hard critique. This is the internet and from where I'm standing it's all simply theatre to me. It's true, I didn't care for your track, but no, I was sarcastic with the annoy connotation. I don't get that wrapped up with music that doesn't do it for me. I'm actually surprised you got this defensive being how you pride yourself on your own direct indepth honesty.

The ironic thing is I actually assumed you would smile about my post. Seriously!
No need to be figuratively diminutive regarding musical efforts made by anyone else in your defense, as in the devices that are utilized. That's bush league if I may be so honest and direct, void of sarcasm.

NO problem. Criticism is more than welcome even if it's vague, but if it is directed at a specific then I can possibly learn what didn't work/communicate. It wasn't a complete musical piece anyway, it was a glimpse at a process. As said, I think the process is interesting, or should be as it's about two or more people contributing to a composition in real time. That's easy to do if neither listens to the other or cares about building a composition or feeling. Some may prefer that random sort of "chance" composition, but it's not generally where I'm coming from.

Mike, I think you've covered before the problems of written communication where a face to face would leave no doubt about intent such as sarcasm. Yes, I missed it, but don't think of my response as defensive, rather more offensive in restating that I wasn't presenting a finished piece that I though much of. It was/is RAW.

OK, no more sketches, only finished works.

Anyone else out there got an opinion? Specifics are welcome, especially if they are critical.
