Looks like that was one of Ron’s mpcs made with the Power Ring, a heavy ring that originally would have slipped over the shank end.

That’s what I thought too, but I have never seen one with the ring off.

A friend/coworker of mine when I worked at Groth Music here in Minneapolis had one, and I recall the ring wasn’t glued on his and it could slide on/off...

I have a .130 power ring model without the ring. It looks like this one. The person with the ring wouldn't sell it to me later. Ron offered to send me one, but I never had him do it.

funny thing. i had a Drake SoS that i gave to a friend with a Lady Face (sounded much better on IT than my 400), BUT i kept the ceramic ring ligature that fit so well on my RPC .100 rollover. (Ron told me to get a generic 2 screw, just like he said i really ought to play cane instead of plastic.)

Time to just get rid of tons of mouthpieces that just sit here doing no good at the house.
