I used a vandoren 3 reed, brancher gold plated lig, yanagisawa 5 mouthpiece and a Rampone and Cazzani gold plated sopranino saxophone.Recorded on a panasonic vdr 53 dvd recorder w/ a external audiotechnica microphone(battery powered). I chose Srul Irving Glick's lullaby as my 1st selection. I love the melody. It was wrote for alto saxophone. It is in Sax journal vol 26 no 2 nov/dec 2001.You can play along w/ a piano. I choose acapella as I wanted to play in a bigger room w/ the sopranino(big high end stereo is in master bedroom). Highest note is a high C#(same as a soprano's high F#). It could be played on a soprano but I feel the sopranino does bring a differant tone color. Next is Lord's prayer played as written not transposed. Highest note is a high G(above the staff not above palm key high F#). Lord's prayer is easier on the ears as it does push nino into the high notes like the lullaby did. Some minor splitting of high notes(sax wants to play octave lower due to reed should be stronger{alexander 3 1/2s on order}). I like the tone on the rampone mthpc better but the yani 5/3reed combo responsed better and doesn't kill my chops. Thanks for watching!!!!I tell people I play well but not well enough to make a living out of it!!!
