Has anyone else used the Rovner platinum ligatures for the hard rubber mouthpieces and found that the ligature was scratching the top of the mouthpiece?

I got a tenor and alto hard rubber ligature yesterday and started to play on them. They play great and have a nice low end, but when I was finished playing for the day, the back of my RPC tenor and alto pieces were all eaten up.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

I was thinking to put some tape on the lig to reduce the scratching.

This happens with my Olegatures. I have found the long, clear Runyon mouthpiece patches used sideways or tape work best.
