Hello! Lately (the past 3 hours), I've been obsessed with finding a recording of SMR playing Concertino Da Camera. The most I could find on my own were programs mentioning him performing the piece but that's it. I've also scoured quite a few posts on this website and found mentions about a recording in 1939 with the NY Philharmonic and a 1958 recording at Constitution Hall. Any help finding these or just getting any info would be appreciated. Thank you!
It has always seemed strange to me that there are not more recordings of Sigurd Rascher since he performed numerous concerts in the U.S. over his career. I can't help with the Rascher recording of the Ibert, but I can share my favorite recording of the piece accompanied by an orchestra done by Vincent Abato. (sorry about the scratchy recording) I studied his interpretation of both the Ibert and the Glazounov when I prepared my master's recital playing both pieces.
