Hello Fellow Musicians,

These days I am trying to transcribe this Bossa nova track by legendary Stan Getz. [

While I have figured out how to play melody parts on tenor, but I am unable to fathom the part starting from 1:10 to 2:10
Can anyone pls help me follow the pattern that Stan is playing or are there any "hip licks" that I should practise to understand the playing style in detail.

Thanks much in advance,
Musically,
VaMi :)

That's a long passage to analyze, but some things I was hearing was him playing +9's off the dominant 7 at 1:14, chromatic approach notes moving from a chord tone in one chord to a chord tone in the next at 1:18, 1:19 & 1:21 , +9 of the dominant at 1:31, chromatic approach notes at 1:35.

What I would do is to write down the chords and what he is playing over them so you know what he is doing in relation to the chord progression. You can take phrases from the solo and use that as your pattern.
