Hello concert saxophonists! A group I play in, Akira Quartet, is announcing a commission consortium for a new piece by composer, Matthew Quayle. We highly encourage anyone interested in new saxophone music to consider joining our consortium. The cost of entry is very low at just $100; this gets you exclusive performing rights for the whole of 2017 and your group's name is featured on the final score. The piece aims to be around 15 minutes in length and feature movements that can be programmed individually as well. The composer writes,

"I am looking forward to collaborating with the Akira Quartet on a new work. This will be a substantial composition (circa 15 minutes as an initial estimate) with several individual movements that could also be programmed effectively and flexibly on their own. Many thanks in advance to all who lend their support to this exciting project."
