I found this new channel on YouTube that has some fantastic play-a-longs. I was impressed with the swing stuff because it sounded really nice and actually was swingin' !!! I have also been messing with my recording equipment trying to learn how to use it so I made a recording with one of the youtube tracks. I got permission from the channel owner and I'm going to link his info below as well.

the channel is ACME Play-A-Longs ... all sorts of styles. He said he has a lot of new stuff he's going to be uploading over the next 2 weeks.

Thanks for sharing, I'm glad you like to share now.
I like this standard.
Do you use this mouthpiece or another ?
Oh snap! That gig. I had fun there. Band was killer. That's my old quintet. I miss playing with those guys.

I use a different mouthpiece now and a different horn. That setup on that video is a Ted Klum 5 with my TM Custom tenor. The horn in the recording above is a Balanced Action with an Otto Link FL USA STM 8.

Both are good. Just different.

And musical "talk" of your sax just accelerates this swing. Very NICE, Simon!

Haha! More will be coming up for sure. It's a fun project to work on while we can't interact with others musically and is really stretching my audio engineer chops (or complete lack there of). I actually just remixed it some and reposted on sound cloud about 2 seconds ago on this one. Raised the backing track a little and changed the reverbs and eq some.

Thanks for listening though. I appreciate it. I'm gonna head over to the TOTM and listen to your take soon! I'm excited that there are some more posts.

Dunno how I missed this! I've been trying to listen to everything I can! Awesome playing Simon - Keep it coming, very inspiring! This is such a great song and you really keep the vibe all throughout.

My wife has recently been called back to the office as part of a promotion. Very small number of people there, and, of course, lots of precautions. But the best part is the extra time for playing - thanks for sharing such a good resource!
