Hey guys,

I have the Protec Alto and Soprano Combo Case. It has wheels and a telescoping handle. I love the case. It's convenient, pretty light, and perfect for transporting those instruments since I use both all the time. Lately, I've been wanting to remove all the hardware (wheels and handle, etc.). Does anyone know how I could do that safely without completely dismantling the case?

I have the same case, not long after I started using it one of the wheel axles came undone and the wheel came off. I found the wheel, but I can't remember now if the thread on the axle was damaged or lost. Anyway I needed to repair the wheel, I beleive that I drilled out the fixings, which I think were split rivets. All the hardwear is fixed with these rivets, so these are what need removing. It is possible, but there will be holes obviously. The wheel fixings that I removed I replaced with 4mm self locking nuts and bolts. I hope that this helpful. Peter.
