I am in a high school marching band and I have an alto Prestini that has a round lyre slot but all I can find is square-tipped. Everywhere I check, no one knows what I'm talking about and when people do they say they haven't been made for years. I need some help. If anyone has links or anything I would be grateful.

Ive checked Ebay a couple of times but nothing turns up. Ive gotten to the point where I'm considering just grinding a square one down. Im not very familiar with brands but I'm very curious about what was going through the makers head when he made the lyre slot.Thank you for your assistance

Ask for a bass clarinet lyre. They are sometimes round.

Oh... And I just look in my junk music drawer and I have one. Any idea what diameter the round stem needs to be? Mine appears to be 4.5 mm.
