I nearly always go with plastic resonators, but thats just a personal thing. Currently owning 3 presidents, all equipped with them.
That is great advice which I think I will take. My Presidential tenor has plastic resonators so I think I will follow suit and change my mind. Advice greatly appreciated.

have received notification from Claripad in Germany that my new pads were sent out in today's post :))) My technician is currently finalising the SML Super 44 restoration so hopefully he'll re-pad the President shortly after this.

It will be interesting comparing these pads with the Pisoni being installed in the SML.

My later President Tenor had the typical German pads with no reflectors so I got Music Medic pads with just rivets as the closest thing.
Have to admit the project stalled half way through and it sits uncompleted so can't really comment on the sound....

Did you receive the pads yet? How were they?
NO - unfortunately - both the seller (claripads) and myself are somewhat dispirited by this but in the current environment much of the global post is somewhat awry. According to the latest tracking (April 3rd) the package was handed over to International logistics to get here so in all reality I have NO idea where they are.

I myself have a mid 60s (last model / phase) President tenor, with high F# palm key, and I would urge you to get the job done. You'll love yourself for it. Are / were you doing the job yourself?

At first reading the title I thought the thread was about the Whitehouse and Mar-a-Lago. :)
:))))))

after a lengthy delay the pads have finally arrived - phew!. Now I just need to wait until me tech can get the job done. He is now overdue with SML Super 44 restoration (he had a shipment from the US very much delayed) but this should be done very soon. As I will naturally be eager to collect the little 44 I will drop off the little president and the new pads. I gotta' admit these pads look very nice. T'was also lovely to see a few samples of pads made with alternate leather such as sheep or different colour leather or alternate resonator - nice touch me thinks.

well its been a while - the pads spent 13 weeks in transport and with the lock-down and curfew in place I can't visit my technician. To circumvent this I sent the little Hohner and the pads via courier to his workshop. He was impressed with both the saxophone and the new pads. The repad should take place this week and I'll have more to say then.

Thanks, i only documented the size for the President tenors
Those pad sizes are for one series of the alto not all. Pad sizes changed between phases. The sizes I have cited suit the 2nd series. The first series requires 1 x 15.5mm /
1 x 25.0mm / 1 x 29.0mm / 1 x 31.0mm / 1 x 40.5mm / 2 x 41.0mm. I'll post a full set once my technician has confirmed.
