Howdy, everyone!
Stumbled across a 1940 Comm II (I think) yesterday on Craigs List. I have an e-mail into the seller for some questions to be answered, so we'll see.

If it's a Comm II, is $550 too much? Actually I was considering offering $450...
Serial is #139787.
I can't make out the engraving in the posted photos, but it appears to be a Comm II, as it has the nickel key work.

(Can't seem to get the photos to load)

The Alto Comm IIs don't really seem to carry the value that the Tenor Comm IIs carry and The Martin Altos seem to be the high draw on eBay.

Is this a deal?:? :?
Thanks,
MHC

No silly questions!

milandro,
There are no silly questions. Only silly answers! And I'm here to give out lots of those.

By the way, I can PM photos to anyone, but here at work, I cannot get internet access to photo sharing sites, and thus cannot upload photos with a URL to add to the post...

I can't believe they actually expect us to work here. Don't they know there are deals on saxes out there if your willing to look for them?!

Later all.

Wow, I saw that sax on Detroit Craig's List too! Thought about calling "April" about it, but I ended up finding another sax, completely refurbished, also Martin, and for over $100 less, so I didn't call about the Craig's List sax.

If someone buys it I would be curious as to how it all works out, whether it's a decent playing horn, etc.

I know, I know ... curiosity killed the cat ... (but for quite some time I was a major suspect.)

believe me..... it was silly :) I dind't understand what a Comm II was.... then I thought it must have been Committee II....I told you it was silly! :)

Anyway for ID check on Saxpics and to me 550$ is cheap (in Euros is very cheap) even though you probbably will get to 1000 once is refurbished if it needs to

She didn't reply to my email until it was already sold. I e-mailed about 20 minutes after she posted it for sale. Guess I should have called.
Live and learn.
