I'm playing with my friend who is very well known here on a kind of regular basis. What a great thing. The thing is that being in someone else's band and playing their music is really cool after kind of being in the audience for a few years.

Makes you appreciate things in a new way.

Most excellent!

One of the most inspiring moments of my life was standing on stage next to Billy Harper and playing with him. Feeding on his energy, power and commitment. You just can't replace that by listening to the person's recordings or attending his/her live performances. It's transforming.

It's also nice that we are good friends and we've been teaching combos at the Webster U together for five years.

I got to play a few gigs and record with my teacher, who's one of my saxophone heroes. It still blows my mind every time I hear one of those tracks.
Congrats.
