Some friends of mine were playing at Dizzy's in NYC for a week. Antonio Ciacca quintet playing the music of Italian-American composers like Chick Corea, Sal Nistico, Henry Mancini, Harry Warren and Frank Signorelli. I played the last couple of tunes on Sunday and had a blast. Garzone was on tenor all week playing his silver-plated #21k Selmer BA. I brought my silver-plated #28k BA 'cause I thought it would look cool (saxophone geek stuff).

Garzone has his own sound but you can tell he digs Trane and Stan Getz.

Funny you should ask. Steve Kirby and Lewis Nash were on the gig and the MC made up some jive-Italian names for them.
