I have got a tenor sax music book of classic blues tunes/songs. ( Cry me a river, Harlem Nocturne etc) with a play along cd which i really enjoy practicing to... However, whilst i enjoy playing the melody with accompaniment, I would really like to experience playing the actual Tenor sax part along to stuff like Glenn miller arrangements and stuff as i think this would be good experience and ultimately the kind of practice that would prove invaluble when it comes to playing with an actual band... Does anyone know of any packages like this as I can't seem to find any anywhere?

If you mean the tenor part to a big band piece without being in a big band? then probably not. The only thing I can really suggest is tenor players song books. I just recently purchased a Bob Mintzer book which is fantastic to play to and just listen to.

If you want to improve your ensemble playing then I would suggest finding a group to play with; it's the best way to learn.

And there used to be a Basie/Sammie Nestico play along. Maybe with a little research, you can come up with that one, too.
