The first one in the small music shop near my house (it is incredible but true), there is also a tenor in the same conditions but it is still not for sale. The second one has a strange story. One evening a man called me saying "I have a VI for sale do you wanna buy it? I am retiring and I don't need it anymore...". Now we are very good friends :D

It's beautiful. Is that the original lacquer? Was it originally made with nickel keys like a student horn? I love that look. Nice alto!
Absolutely! Original lacquer on both VI. Maybe the 231.xxx has nickel keys (but I should check it again to be sure). The 97.xxx has silver keys for sure.

Thanks,

Stan

Check Stan's web site (link in his signature). My understanding is that he makes them himself.
Yes! it is a nice looking prototype :). I am experimenting with materials and colors (blue, orange, green, fluorescent orange, fluorescent green, red, black, transparent, glossy-white, black or colored ebonite, cumberland and so on...). Stay tuned on my setup page if interested in future developments :D

How did you manage to get your hands on two VI's with nickle plated keys? The mouthpieces look cool too.
