Just received a tenor piece I sent to Phil to check and correct the facing. Excellent work at a good price, and fast service. The piece plays great now while it retains the sound that I liked. As you know Phil is in France now, so to all players in the EU who need some work done: You know where to go. Highly recommended.

Can't speak for his refacings, but I do know of his handmade pieces. Prices are great, the pieces are consistent, and his mouthpieces are well made with high quality hard rubber.

Phil is such a great guy to deal with - I've had a couple of refacings done and own several of his mouthpieces. Highly recommended!

Can't avoid sampling others from time to time, but only pieces I play for past year are

Alto - HR Le Son, replaced his Meyer re-face
Tenor - HR Sapphire, a late Link/early Babbitt style.

Chose them with Phil's generous help; he is very responsive by email.

Phil made a custom piece for a friend of mine earlier this year that I bought as a present. Hes a late-bloomer amateur at 80 and still playing. Phil was great to deal with and my buddy loves the piece. Recommended!

Additionally Phil is a great guy.

I own two Phil-Tones a Mosaic tenor and a Solstice alto, both purchased used. Even though we have no direct customer relationship he has answered questions about his products as if I had bought them from him.
