Here is the Phil Collins Big Band on Pick Up The Pieces with all these great saxophonists getting down and funky. Each solo is a master class in funk, blues and jazz saxophonics by itself but all together they're an entire school. Lots to learn here from each of these greats name players.

Sorry. Didn't see it because I wasn't doing sax on the web in October. Anyway, my intention in posting this was not to talk about how great it is with just WOWs and AWESOMEs but as a learning tool and way for people to discuss the differences in what and how these great men were each playing this tune. I mean everyone says to transcribe solos to learn from them so why not a group analysis of how these guys constructed their solos here. That's why I said in the OP that it's a veritable master class in playing funk. People who can ear transcribe can say what is happening as in a post game analysis of football or tennis or just talk about the development of sections of the solos and then compare and contrast them with the others. We can talk about riffs we like and how they used them and linked them into the flow of their solo......hell you can analyse every aspect of their playing both harmonically, melodically, tonally and rhythmically and in doing it learn a great deal about what these guys do that makes them so great.

So even without seeing it I'm sure it's not a duplicate of the earlier thread.
