You can get the Bari with lig for less than other ligs of the normal metal sort. It's a great deal for a beginner.
Sounds perfect! I tried to find them online for sale, and I was shocked to find such a highly regarded mouthpiece for $10...wow

I think i'll pick one up for myself to try out, but I think this may be what I end up going with.

(gonna try the Hite, too)

If the lig is a factor, wouldn't a regular old bonade lig work great? 10-15 bucks, depending on where you go to get one, and it sounds pretty good too. And a rovner lig can run about 15-18, depending where you go for that one, too. I am pretty sure the Bonade would fit just about every mouthpiece that has been suggested so far.

Guys run your numbers X 500 and see how you feel!

He isn't asking for your setup, but an affordable (cheap) decent playing setup to give away with horns. I'm all for good equipment, but $$ add up fast when doing multiple purchases!

$5000 - $7500 is quite a lot of money to me! Especially just for ligatures, no mouthpieces included.

The hite is good the bari is even better, and you could get a bunch of basic ligatures online for cheap

If you decide to go with the BARI Esprit, let me know and I will get a price on quantity. That $55 price sounds way off. I was selling them for about $15 with the cap and ligature. Maybe they bumped the price up. Actually the tip is the same opening as the C* but the chamber is more like a Meyer. If I had to, I could play a job on one and nobody would know the difference. The Tenors are quite similar to a Link 5* which is my choice for concert band.
