Thanks for posting that video. I have seen it before. Timothy McAllister is one of the best classical saxophonists in the world, so his opinions should carry some weight in the saxophone community. I would like to point out that the pitch of the fundamental played on his alto neck is Ab concert. This is the pitch I have used in my playing and teaching for many years to gauge whether a player's embouchure is too tight or too loose. It is also the calculated natural resonant frequency of the neck plus the missing cone to its apex which Benade writes that the played frequency of the mouthpiece + neck must match in order for the body and bell of the saxophone to respond as if it were a complete cone. The closer a saxophone comes to being a perfect cone with the proper taper, the more in tune are the harmonics resulting in a better playing instrument.
