I have one of those..they are quite good and way different than a "today" Meyer.
That being said, i would sell mine for half that price!

A flute player would think nothing of spending that on a headjoint. So if you are looking for the very best, why not? Over a playing career of decades, it really isn't all that much. Having said that, I'm not sure about buying it without having played it.

That's my point exactly. I test played a modified Hollywood Dukoff ($850) that, if I had the money, would have bought on the spot! But to pay that much over e-bay, even on a rare piece, sounds pretty rediculous to me.

JFK, as my Marine friends used to say ... Two of these and I can get a real good low Bb horn ! I'll stick to my Florida STM and keep hunting for a nice vintage Martin or Buescher :)
