***Just edited this, to correct a BIG typo. The mouthpiece I am offered is a Dukoff 7M, and nota Meyer 7M, as previously stated. Sorry!****

Hi all:

I have an Otto Link STM 4* for alto, which is too closed and dark for me, and I'm looking for an equivalent O.L. facing of 7, but with a brighter sound than the O.L. can offer. I've been offered a Dukoff 7M as a straight swap and was just wondering if it's value for money in the current market. The O.L. is at least 30 years old, I reckon.

Hope I've got the right sub-forum, and that someone's out there!

Thanks in advance for your help!
Regards, Mike

Re: Otto Link STM vs Meyer metal

the metal Meyer's are ok pieces
Hi Bopity: thanks for your reply, but I really hate to tell you this , I just checked the offer again, and the guy is offering a Dukoff 7M, not a Meyer 7M. Don't know how I made this mistake, really sorry. Maybe you could offer an updated opinion!
PS I have just corrected my original post.

I would take it off you, but the only thing close I have is a Meyer HR 6M that would be what you're looking for.

The M series dukoffs are not as high baffle as the D series, and I haven't seen them as often.

I'd check your STM to see exactly when it was made, as this can affect its value.
