Time to clean out the mpc drawer - any suggestions what I should ask for this? It's definitely used, and Somewhat tarnished. It's not pristine, but I'd say it's in "not bad" shape - and it's real.

7 tip, apparently not refaced.

I'll post pix when I post the ad, but I'd welcome any suggestions for what to ask.

I've had this one sitting sinve the 1970s, so I think it's time to move it along.

I've got a few other interesting old mouthpieces, but this is the only one likely to be really spught after.

I've also got an old Selmer A - yes, A. I've never seen another.

I guess you have a (1940's) Tone Master with an HS facing, something like this one:

The HS facing was normally not a 7 tip, but more around a 6 (I've seen different sizes reported).

Depending on the state of your mouthpiece and the presence of the original ligature and cap I guess the price could vary between 400 and 700 USD.

Thanks! No, mine's different - it actually says "HAWKINS SPECIAL" on the side, not the table, and it also says four ****. I'm not sure, now I look again, that it really does say "7". I do have what appears to be the original lig, but not the cap (that I know of).

Serial number is MM43, if that helps.

Sorry for the ignorant questions, and thanks for your help. I'll post pix when I can.

In that case you have a 1935-1940 Otto Link Four**** with a Hawkins Special facing. Also around 5* to 6 (7 tips where never made in those times), see this:
https://www.nicolastrefeil.com/link-four-star-hawkins

Those pieces don't have the ridge on top and the ligature looks slimmer than the Tone Master ones.

I guess the value of those is normally a bit lower than the Tone Masters, my best guess would be 350 to 600 USD.

See here a link to a (not complete) serial number overview of the Four**** pieces (your MM43 one belongs to serie III):
https://www.nicolastrefeil.com/four-star-1935-1940

PS. The tittle of your thread (Otto Link NY) is a bit unclear, because Link made several models in NY. Better is to change NY into Four****.
