Hi I have a really nice playing Link but it is a"stubby"...that is shortened piece I assume. Did they ever make a stubby type or did some one shorten it for tuning or after damage? IMG_6573.jpg It is for sale now also...TK reface #6 IMG_6572.jpg

Not a link expert but if it tunes up as expected and plays well, I don't see how it could be chopped.

I think it is definitely chopped and I don’t think this is a factory modification. This might have been done to fit a horn with a microtuner.

If you chop part of the shaft, unless you hanging at the very end of the neck, there would be no change in the tuning.
