I put up an original thing I did in 2002 on my space. It's called After the Rain. It was just a rough draft but after finding it I like the tenor sound. Let me know what you think.
It reminded me of some of the really good playing Jan Garbarek did with Keith Jarrett's band. If I can make one suggestion/comment: I think a nice tagged ending would really cement the lovely positive sounding, almost gospel-ly flavour running through it.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I made this track at a friend's studio with the intention of having a demo to let other musicians learn the tune to record it with a group.
When I found it laying around I had to practice the piano part again I forgot it
On it's own it has a good sax feel so for now it exists in this state. Thanks for the suggestion Rory and when or if it's done again I'll be stretching it.
K, thanks for the compliment. I know you work hard as well. The funny thing is that this was 5 years ago this month . Oct 2002 I did that. I think I'm improving all the time but it's a slow process. I'm the tortoise.
Here's a clip of me playing an original tune. Not the best quality recording, just playing the tune over a basic keyboard track while my daughter is going on her nightly stroll around the house. Any input is welcome, compliments and insults alike! www.myspace.com/fighterforjc
That was a 7* HR Link not vintage or anything. I liked that one alot and played it quite a while but moved on to the Brillhart and now I use a Saxscape Extra Dark that has been great. It crosses between the 2.
