Certainly a very carefully done relaq if one at all- meaning there's no particular reason to care unless you're paying some premium for OL. On the other hand if you could get us a sound clip of the horn being played I'm sure that many could immediately tell from the pronounced difference in tone........

The etching looks pretty sharp in the photos indicating original. If not, ditto what the others said. Nice get!

Jury is in....

UPS delivered the Tenor today....We all believe it is original lacquer.
I will take it to my tech he will know for sure he has eagle eyes.

I opened the case it was like opening a time capsule half page sheet music.reeds .etc just like a player would leave it. A shiny Comm I 126.5xx (pads are dead)and a surprise a mouthpiece a Steve Broadus Perfected Model (S4 star). little small for me.
I was just going to clean it and put it on ebay. I thought why not just try it once to see what this vintage hooplas about. Picked up my Sherwood off the stand (Martin Standard Special stencil) and all I could say is WOW!!! little edgy ,smooth ,fat, beautiful sound. The horn loved the mouthpiece fit like a glove and very comfortable.
