I bet this has probably been asked before, but here it goes; I have a vandoren optimum ligature, it is the best ligature I've ever tried by far, even though it has trouble fitting alot of mouthpieces.

I play on a Selmer Larry Teal piece now for ligit stuff, but I'm starting some jazz stuff soon and I'm looking into metal pieces (specifically meyer metal)

My question is will my optimum fit a meyer metal jazz piece?

If not what is a good jazz mouthpiece (full and focused, but still edgy) that it would fit on?

First question to you is Which sax?

2nd Q, Why a metal Meyer? If for alto, the hard rubber is the standard others are measured by and compared to.

Maybe, depends on which sax we are talking, but probably not.

HR Meyer would be good on alto. HR link would be good on tenor.

An alto optimum will fit a hard rubber Meyer fine. If you are on alto go for a hard rubber Meyere anyway, the metal ones sound like crap.

There are different sizes for these ligatures and each one does not handle a very broad range of mouthpiece sizes like Rovners do.
