Hey all,

Just got a new Selmer SA80 alto because I'm going back to college and will be studying on it. I know it is widely considered a "classical" horn but I will be playing some jazz on it as well. I'm looking at using the C-star for classical play but need to find a mouthpiece more condusive for jazz. I had a Ria mp for my tenor and it was ok, but I've heard good things about the white HR Brilharts. Opinions?

Try Vandoren's V16s. All of the facings and chambers have different characters, so there's lots of options to explore. Plus the quality level is high, so it's MUCH easier to find a good one as compared to shopping for a Meyer/Link!

Whatever works best for you. Try as many as you can get your hands on.....and bring a tuner with you.

I use a Lost Wax Meyer copy. Plays like a primo vintage meyer, costs much less. I am firmly in the Meyer or similar camp.

The Selmer Soloist is also a wonderful choice.
