An RPC with a Power Ring?

Yes, but Ive never heard anything that would justify it going for that price from a players perspective. They are rare...then again so are a lot of things.

I actually tried out a RPC just like this at Robertos this past winter, didn't really strike me as anything special, and I would assume this isn't the same one, making it non-unique. Ridiculous price, if I knew people on eBay were foolish enough to pay that much, I would have bought the piece I tried.

Didn't pay anthing to him for the fungal spore but I'm still paying with my health.

An interesting side note of your comment: I did buy a horn from "Demonic" several years ago. It was the Yani T901 I still use. It was before he got completely weird with his off brands and eBay puffery. I paid $1800 shipped and felt it was a fair deal for both of us.

I agree that the price was absurdly high.

I think you can duct tape a hunk of metal on your sax neck for a similar effect. Would not look as cool though.

Ha! The Power ring...a friend I used to work with had one, bought it fairly cheap as well--$130 maybe? It was alright, you could play it with or without the ring. Its not the same as a bari or Morgan ex. piece though, it is a lot heavier and thick hunk of metal. They may be rare, but so what? Does anyone even play on one of those?

From a player's perspecive the difference of this ring (I suppose) must be minimal..

No, I don't remember there being a big difference; if anything, the feedback you got from the piece was a little different with the ring--kind of like playing a piece with a tooth patch maybe versus one without...but the sound wasn't any different. Obviously this design didn't take hold...
