I just received a copy of Bobby Wellins's CD, Lady in Satin. I don't usually hit the play button again and again, but work CDs into the collection slowly. Last night I finally forced myself to take it out of the player.

He has a wonderful tone throughout. The tunes are very laid back, so don't expect sheets of sound or anything. Plus, FIFTEEN tracks on this disc.

Yeah, I really like him and would love hear more of him. I've only heard this one recording.

I ordered his Snapshot CD over a month ago, from the U.K., and it still isn't here. Someone needs to get these guys more U.S. exposure and easy access to their music.

I continue to recommend Jonah Smith's "Beneath the Underdog" because it hasn't got a lot of exposure, it is really good songwriting, and Bob Reynolds, an SOTW member, plays a lot of tasty stuff on it.

I just received Bobby Wellins' Snapshot, and recommend it highly.
I got it it first came out. It should be high on everyone's shopping list, imho! 'Lady in Satin', mentioned above, is really good too; and I would also add 'Tracey/Wellins Play Monk'.
