The neck is of a Pierret/Olds Parisian Ambassador, so disregard it as far as an identifying feature....

But the rest of the horn does not display a Pierret-made horn (?)

Quite the mix of details....

Eyebrow keyguards

Triple neckstrap eyelet

Spat keys like a Beaugnier/Noblet

Bell brace reminiscent of a Buescher 400

Quite interesting........Verona, Italy ....BUT it does NOT appear to be a Desidera.....

I have not ever heard of this brand before, but back in the days Italo De Bernardi was a horn repairman in Verona. Just 40/50 years ago.
Roberto Buttus, the man behind Sequoia saxes, started from that workshop.
Italian saxes of this period, Grassi excluded, have not aged well. Main market target was wind bands.

I half agree and half disagree...having refurbed over 100 vintage Italian saxes.....there are a lot of unremarkable ones, yes - but there are some quite respectable to good ones besides Grassi.

Desideras are quite decent horns, and some older Borganis (particularly their sopranos) are downright good players.

R&C also made a VI-like horn in the 70's, produced in alto, tenor, and low A baritone, which is very good.

Santoni made some decent enough stencils, just workaday horns but well-made. They also appeared to have produced a Buffet SDA knockoff which is really, really close to the originals....once in a while one pops up.

Orsi never floated my boat, A. Rampones are nothing much to speak of, most Borgani horns of the period (incl. their stencils Alexandre, etc) are also forgettable.

Grazie for the info on Signor DeBernardi...interesting that he was in Verona, which is where Desidera was. Perhaps he contracted an eponymous-named stencil from them ? If so, he did have them change a number of details....
