I joined a ska/reggae band not too long ago, and one of the best parts about it was that I didn't have to bring a bunch of horns and equpiment; just my tenor. Well, they've been asking about my other horns, and especially bari, but to this point I've resisted the urge to bring the others to rehearsals. Until last night, that is. I figured I'd surprise them and take out my curved True Tone soprano for a kick. It's a horn I only gig with a couple times a year now that the dixieland gigs have sort of dried out and it was fun to have it out again. But now it seems to have won over the rest of the group and I'm stuck with another horn in the mix. Oh well... there went that luxury.

Don't tell them about the better sounding PA that you have in your basement.

Leave the bari at home too. Otherwise you won't ever play the sop there again.

If they ever hear the bari, you'll never hear the end of it.

Yeah, I was at the guitar player's house after a gig one night and made the mistake of playing the piano. I don't want to be lugging all that around too...
Try drinking scotch - then you'll have to lug a flask as well!

Yeah, but that gets lighter as the evening wears on. :)
