Looks nice. By the looks of it, I'd be concerned whether they stretch over time though, changing the pressure on the reed.
Guto you've been reading my mind - I'd like to get a small one to accommodate for potential stretch of the weave. I have gorgeous elastic socks made of bamboo fibre and lovely non-stretchable shirts made from bamboo fibre. Still, much cheaper ligature than many.

Looks like you're covering the mouthpiece in a nice, warm blanket. Probably great for the winter months!
Yes, it's cozy looking! I'm wondering if it has a good grip on the mouthpiece once it's tightened in place. That would be a concern as well as the plate being held in place over time because of all the flexing involved. It's kind of like the Rovner Versa ligature but in a woven cloth basket weave.

I'd be concerned trying to make a mouthpiece adjustment on the fly. The material wont grip the mouthpiece and you twist the thing right off (during a song). I've done that on a Rovner.

Most definitely and the Rovners have held in place for me, once adjusted and I don't like adjusting them because the don't move freely or too easily when you have to loosen for adjustments. Nevertheless, I have a lot of them as well as many other ligature types. The Vandoren M/O and Optimum are great with there double track screw mechanism, IMO.

FWIW: from the sellers....

The NOVA ligatures which are available now have been designed for hard rubber mouthpieces, not for metal ones. However, the company is working on special sizes for metal mouthpieces but we are not sure when they will have them available. It may be useful for you to know that the NOVA ligature size for soprano mouthpieces also fit metal tenor mouthpieces (Otto Link or Dukoff). However, you should know that these will not be as wide as a tenor saxophone ligature (both plate and ligature).

Why do they not mention anywhere in their website where their company is based, where they ship from? This is something people are usually proud to say, and relevant for those who may want to know they have a simple way to return the product in case something goes wrong. I read in between the lines that they are in South America, maybe in Argentina? Strange...

Also the price on these is crazy! What's going on with all these boutique ligatures coming out recently? Upwards of $100 for a ligature? No, thank you. I'll stick with my simple 2 screws on HR's and plain Rovner on metal pieces.

Argentina - the NOVA ligs are 'I'm pretty sure' a newish product. The costs are way less than for many of their competitors. I reckon they'll find their fans as many ligatures do.

anything over $35 for a ligature is too much IMO.
Guto - the validity of ligature costs has long been debated here on more than one occasion. I was recently in discussion with a young, highly proficient and exceedingly particular player, about ligatures. Her conclusion is "that ligtures matter". They don't matter to everybody but there are those who feel an enhanced connected-ness with their horn when using certain ligatures. I do not believe every player can sense this connected-ness but for those that do their ligature becomes a very important aspect of their set-up. Quite recently an array of hand-made string ligatures being offered here at SOTW have more than impressed those who've tried them. I can draw analogies with motorcycle tyres knowing dam well not all riders can detect the differences between one brand and another while to others its chalk and cheese. Personally I had a WOW moment with a ligature and suddenly I became aware just how much difference they can make at times. Maybe you day will come - I'm hoping so :)

Hassles - I appreciate your perspective, I do. And I don't doubt ligatures can have an impact on how the player hears their own sound. I've been in some of those debates here at SOTW too. But I still cannot justify paying close to $100 or more for a boutique ligature. Anything that effectively holds the reed down is good enough for me. Maybe someday I'll see the light... I hope not, for the sake of my wallet. Cheers.
