just under the lip...from the microphone...totally cosmetic, but I would like to fix it...is this something I can do myself? What would I need (tools) as I dont really have time right now for my horn to be in a repair shop...many gigs these next few months...

For a DYI like this, you can try taking a spoon of the proper cup shape and rub the bowl of the spoon following the rim in that area. Protect the finish if needed by a couple of layers of waxed paper.
