So, after everyones responses to my previous postings, I think I have finally setteled on the NS Tenor. I have heard everyone say, or a lot say that they are overly bright and really dont have a lot of depth or warmth to their sound. How true is this? I am coming off of a Mark VI that I have played for the past 15 yrs.. My VI is pretty bright, which I DONT like sometimes.. How will this compare in terms of brightness with MARK VI or a Yamaha 82 ZU that I was originally going to purchase? I dont mind a little bright, but is it going to have lazer or buzz saw qualities or be harsh sounding? I know a lot depends on my mouthpiece and reed combo and setup, but do these horns have warmth to them as well? I read most of the other postings in terms of which models are dark and which are bright. Some of you even listed the order of them. Is this Keilwerth still going to have a lot of the other same Keilwerth characteristics that MANY of you KNOW and LOVE? I am going to be using this for Contemporary, Funk, R and B Setup and Pop setup. I wont be playing straight ahead jazz. When this horn is pushes will it still maintain its beautiful richness and full bottom end? Thanks for all the replies everyone
