I use silk scarves which I replace periodically to swab my sax by tying them to my old sax swab cord in place of the other it originally came with. I recently came across a scarf marked 40% silk, 60% polyester. It wasn't all silk, but was a great size, so I went ahead and tried it. It swabs fine, but the surprise was, it quickly polished up my sax joint where the tenon connects which I always wipe after my swabbing, and was quicker than anything else I've ever tried. The scarf was satin-like in texture. Anyway, it was a nice serendipity to find something that polished so effortlessly. I get the scarves at thrift stores, usually.
