Chad-LB has been playing on a new sax for some time, and I asked him about it over a month ago. He said he would have more details on it soon and he was testing it out. Well - today was the announcement! Not much for details yet but they are definitely coming soon. There is one picture of it, but the recent videos of Chad feature it! Check this one out:

The “F# key adds more weight” people crack me up. How much more weight are we talking about here?

I’m all for reducing the weight but not having a high F sharp key? I would miss that. And changing the angle of the neck seems the opposite way. Wouldn’t you want more of an angle so the horn sits Higher against your body? That would put your arms in a more natural position.

I’ve never understood the “we dropped the F# key for weight” crap. It’s what, a few ounces?

what will you be using as a basis of comparison?

Just the Red Java reeds I usually play

I got the Nexus Elite reeds today and so far have only had just a few minutes to play. So far very impressed but not sure how to describe them compared to what I’ve played previously. I can say that, as I’ve experienced with the regular BSS reeds, the first one I chose played straight out of the box. Good news also is the size 3 lines up perfectly for what I usually use which is a Red Java 3.
