Hi Guys, i'm new to the sax, just bought a Trevor James Horn. Learning from a book but would really like to try some 'easy' real tunes. Dont mind what, i have a varied music taste. Can any of you experienced players either let me know the best tunes to learn with or send me some sheet music. Really would appreciate it. Thanks in anticipation. Lee.

If you like church music and don't mind downloading the free version of the NoteWorthy music editing program, I can fix you up with lots of easy stuff.

Here's the link to NoteWorthy:

Do you play alto or tenor?

I have an Alto Sax and am learning the very basics from a book, have managed 'when the saints', its about the only recognisable thing i can play. Any music would be appreciated. Thanks for your reply. Lee

My stuff is all scored for tenor and soprano. But it will work fine on alto just to work out the tunes.

I'm still at work now, but I will PM you with some of the easier stuff I have later tonight.

Here's some advice you didn't ask for ;) : Get a teacher to help you at the start. They'll be able to suggest suitable pieces. All the best.

jamadant: Welcome to SOTW and to the saxophone!

There a HUGE number of simple tunes - way too many to suggest here. I think the advice to get a teacher and be guided by his/her recommendations was a good one.

Once you learn the various scales, you could probably even sound out a favorite tune and get 'er done that way. DAVE
