Sorry if I missed the introduction thread; if there is one, I didn't see it.

I'm new here, but I've been posting on the Saxology forum on myspace for a few years. I've been out of music school for a couple of years.

I've done cruise ship work, small-time recording sessions, I do copywork in Finale, arranging, transcriptions, sax and flute work, I do midi and audio tracks in Reason, Ableton Live, Logic and Cubase, and I'm trying to play enough club dates to make it through the summer. I write my own tunes, and when it's up to me, I like to play jazz, funk, rock and fusion, but I've made sure to be versatile and able to play anything I've been asked to so far.

Right now, I'm working on bringing my clarinet up to a working level and improving my flute double to the point where I'll be able to work Broadway-level work in the next ten years. When September comes around, I'll be shopping some clinics to the local schools and hopefully picking up enough students that I won't have to go back to another cruise ship.

Hey man,

Welcome so Sax on the Web! I've seen a lot of your posts on myspace...i really cant stand the 'forums' or groups over there...sotw if much better....hahaha
good to see you here fellow Jersey and Union county native.
Haha, thanks guys.

Yeah, ramZ, I like the core group of guys there on those groups. They have some good things to say, and they're not stingy with advice or opinions. It's just that every 2 weeks, some kid wants to know about some stencil horn no one's heard of, or what kind of mouthpiece he should get to play like Trane, or what soprano will give him that Brecker sound... grrrrr...

Welcome, but pease, please don't mention the effects of sax finish on sound. The resulting discussion could put an insomniac to sleep.
