The New Century Saxophone Quartet is one of the most musical ensembles I have ever heard. The more "sophisticated" classical saxophone literature they have recorded is a bit "out of reach" for many who are not familiar with that idiom, but their "Main Street America" album is accessible to most people. It has several selections that are perfect for introducing young players to the concept of sound that can be achieved in this type of ensemble. These are a few of the songs on the album that I especially enjoy listening to. If you like this group or recording, please support them by purchasing one or more of their albums on Amazon.
