RIP Neil.

I have never been a Rush fan.
Neil played in several St. Catharines, ON area bands, pre-Rush fame.
JR Flood was his last before Rush formed, which I roadied for when I was in grade 13, playing mostly various area high school dances.
Sure was fun back in those days.
Best version of Santana's Soul Sacrifice ever.

Neil was a very upbeat, positive, high energy, outgoing person and independent thinker.
He loved Keith Moon's drumming back then.

He is sorely missed.

Saxphil, Neil was definitely one of a kind and so disciplined a musician that he completely switched to traditional grip much later in his career. I guess he decided that if it worked so well with Buddy Rich, he could move on from his other influences. Either matched or traditional grip, his playing was phenomenal.

RIP Neil.
