At a practice today, the drummer had me look at an old Conn. I thought it was an alto but I took it to my tech who, after a closer look, deemed it to be a probable C melody. The serial #89924 has a C above it & a L below it. His book showed it was from 1924, possibly New Wonder or Transitional. The neck looks like a long alto neck with micro tuner & the body looks like an alto with a longer bell. It has rolled tone holes. I would appreciate some help with the I.D.

Your tech's right, other than the year-it's from 1922. Should be a NW1, as transitionals were later, and Transitional C Mels are really rare.

The horn looks like someone tried to clean it with Brasso so there is residue at all the edges. It needs a total dipping & cleaning & all new pads. Other than that it's in good shape.
